Spot Maestro Mazzola

October 9, 2020

In great demand at opera houses and concert halls around the world, you never know where Maestro Enrique Mazzola will be jetting off to next. In 2021, the internationally renowned conductor will make Chicago his home base as he becomes Lyric's new music director.

See if you can spot our music director designate in these photos from Verdi's Luisa Miller (2019/20), Bellini's i Puritani (2017/18), and Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor (2016/17)—all operas he has conducted at Lyric.

Maestro Mazzola celebrates the love of a young couple in this touching scene from Verdi's Luisa Miller. Surely nothing will be able to tear these lovebirds apart.
