Lyric Family Favorites: May 22

In the midst of so much uncertainty, a tale of good and evil can be very refreshing. This week we bring you the famed “Jewel Song” from Gounod’s Faust, in which the beautiful Marguerite, sung by Ailyn Pérez, is tempted by gifts from the demon Méphistophélès.

And if a little French is what you fancy, we have much more in store. In this week’s Family Favorites, take a look back at a star of French repertoire, Léopold Simoneau, hear from recent Ryan Opera Center alumna Kayleigh Decker and enjoy her take on Charles Trenet's "Boum," break out the crayons on a coloring page from WFMT, and dig deeper into Faust with a Lyric commentary before watching the Met’s stream on Saturday night.
