Lyric Music & More: March 30

The first installment of The Sonata Sessions is available to watch now. Gioachino Rossini, who would become one of the most well-known and prolific opera composers, was only 12 years old when he wrote six gorgeous string quartets while spending a summer in Ravenna, Italy. Music Director Designate Enrique Mazzola leads an expanded string ensemble featuring members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra in performances of all six of these beautiful, lesser-known pieces. Watch the first sonata now, and check back in as we release new installments each week. And don't forget that Maestro Mazzola's latest concert with the London Philharmonic premieres tomorrow!
