Eaves at the Sarah and Peer Pedersen Room brings a vibrant cocktail-bar experience to the ground floor of the Lyric Opera House, with sweeping city views and an inviting atmosphere for everything from lunch to post-show drinks.

The refreshed menu takes a more brasserie-inspired approach, with shareable starters, salads, sandwiches, flatbreads and approachable entrées designed to pair with Eaves’ creative cocktails and thoughtfully selected wines.

Eaves is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as two hours before every Lyric Opera or Joffrey Ballet performance. Following every performance, the bar remains open for 90 minutes. The kitchen stays open for 30 minutes after evening performances Thursday - Friday and for one hour following Sunday matinees. Most tables are reserved for walk-in guests, but a very limited number of reservations are available through Tock.

Our new patio will also be open seasonally during portions of the fall and spring — an ideal setting for cocktails, lunch or a pre-show meal overlooking the city.

The kitchen at Eaves is led by Chef Amanda McLemore, who has spent the past several years heading up the culinary program at The Florian inside Lyric. Drawing from French, Italian, and Spanish café culture, the menu features handmade pastas, arrosticini skewers, sandwiches, and salads. Designed for everything from a casual business lunch to after-work cocktails or pre-show small plates, Eaves offers a flexible, approachable dining experience across lunch, happy hour, and dinner.

The beverage program at Eaves is led by longtime Chicago bartender Angelo Dousias and centers on inventive, savory takes on classic cocktails. The wine list leans Old World, with a curated selection of about 20 small-producer wines — all available by the glass.
