Support Lyric this Giving Tuesday
Be the spark behind the spotlight!
This Giving Tuesday, you can be the spark behind the spotlight, helping Lyric bring breathtaking artistry to life. From now through December 2, your gift will have double the impact — generously matched by challenge grants from D. Elizabeth Price and the Patrons of Lyric Committee — so your support can lift voices, nurture talent, and keep the magic of opera alive for generations to come.
If you have questions or would prefer to donate via phone, please contact our Development team at 312.827.3500.

Your gift at work
Your gift at work
Your support brings every aspect of Lyric to life — from the paintbrushes that color our sets to the stars who light up our stage. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. Here are just a few things your gift makes possible:
$50
- Provides valuable supplies for one classroom in our High School Residency program.
- Purchases zippers, snaps, and Velcro that make lightning-quick costume changes possible.
$100
- Employs a professional pianist for a classroom in our Elementary Opera Residency program.
- Underwrites one hour of private music coaching for a Ryan Opera Center Ensemble member.
$250
- Guarantees transportation to Lyric for one class to attend a private Dress Rehearsal.
- Equips our scenic artist with one box of painting brushes.
$500
- Protects our stagehands with welding masks while fabricating scenery and props.
- Keeps a performance stage-ready with a make-up kit for the season.
$1,000
- Fashion a complete wig and makeup design for a chorus member.
- Sponsor a Professional Development Workshop Day at Lyric with Chicago Public School music teachers.
$5,000
- Fund the purchase of props and specialty materials for a single production.
- Restore a vintage instrument in Lyric’s orchestra.
- Ensure auditions for the Ryan Opera Center remain free for applicants worldwide.
…and so much more! From creating period costumes and supplying headshots for the Ryan Opera Center Ensemble to underwriting rehearsals and supporting the innovative technologies that allow opera to be accessible to all — you make it possible.
