Eaves at the Sarah and Peer Pedersen Room
A Southern European–inspired cocktail bar and bistro with a view of Chicago’s cultural scene.
Eaves is an intimate venue, with most tables reserved for walk-in guests. A very limited number of reservations are available through Tock.
Step into a new bistro inspired by the historic architecture of the Lyric Opera House and the cafés and libraries of 1920s–30s Southern France and Italy. The name Eaves nods to the room’s original gold and green-leafed decorative beams and overhangs, as well as the iconic colonnade of the Opera House itself.
Hours
- Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Two hours before every Lyric or Joffrey show, with after hours for post-performance drinks.
Reservations available on Tock, but walk-ups are also welcome.
The kitchen at Eaves is led by Chef Amanda McLemore, who has spent the past several years heading up the culinary program at The Florian inside Lyric. Drawing from French, Italian, and Spanish café culture, the menu features handmade pastas, arrosticini skewers, sandwiches, and salads. Designed for everything from a casual business lunch to after-work cocktails or pre-show small plates, Eaves offers a flexible, approachable dining experience across lunch, happy hour, and dinner.
The beverage program at Eaves is led by longtime Chicago bartender Angelo Dousias and centers on inventive, savory takes on classic cocktails. The wine list leans Old World, with a curated selection of about 20 small-producer wines — all available by the glass.
