We want to take a moment to share our deepest gratitude to all of you for a wildly successful 2016/17 opera season. Together, we enjoyed thrilling productions, amazing artistry, stunning stagecraft, and the sheer excitement of the art form that we all adore.
The opera season may have come to a close, but we're still in high gear with new activity humming in the rehearsal rooms as we anticipate the opening of Lerner & Loewe's My Fair Lady with a stellar cast and artistic team later this month, plus two wonderful upcoming recitals. If that weren't enough, the 2017/18 season has been unveiled and we're sharing many reasons to take advantage of special offers on season tickets and perks designed just for you.

Lawrence Brownlee and Eric Owens possess truly remarkable voices and the artistry to make their every performance a great event for the audience. You can hear them perform together this Sunday afternoon, April 9, when the duo presents a program of opera favorites, spirituals, and popular songs with pianist Craig Terry.
World-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman returns to Lyric on April 23 to deliver an exquisite and powerful program that you won’t want to miss! Perlman’s previous recital at Lyric in 2014 thrilled our audience, and we’re delighted to present his only Chicago appearance this season.
Just you wait! This April 28 - May 21, bring the entire family to experience Lerner and Loewe’s beloved Broadway classic My Fair Lady on the Lyric stage. Join Professor Henry Higgins (Richard E. Grant) in his seemingly impossible task of transforming the feisty Eliza Doolittle (Lisa O’Hare) into a “proper” lady.
In 2017, Tom Hurvis reaffirmed his tremendous generosity and commitment to Lyric with a significant gift in memory of his good friend and former Lyric board chairman Richard P. Kiphart to endow in perpetuity one Ensemble position in The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center.
