Lyric Gets Ready for The King and I

It takes a virtual village of guest artists plus Lyric full time and seasonal staff backstage and front of house to mount a musical! Since long before the opera season ended on March 19, preparations have been in full swing for The King and I.

What's Up in the Basement?

As you read this, demolition work in Lyric’s sub-basement, below the level of the Chicago River, has begun to clear out the space and ready it for construction.

Jane Lynch is coming back to sweet home Chicago! See Jane Sing, her cabaret-style comedy show that will arrive at the Civic Opera House for performances June 17 – 18.
