Week four: Lyric Commentaries for Met Opera Nightly Streams

On April 6, 2020 The Metropolitan Opera is continuing their free nightly opera streams with a fourth week of favorites. Enjoy the magic of opera from your living room!

The Met Opera productions are different from those that you have seen at Lyric, but feature many singers you’ve seen and heard on our stage. This week you will enjoy Deborah Voigt, Ben Bliss, Anna Netrebko, Adam Plachetka, Stephanie Blythe, Mariusz Kwiecien, and many more including Lyric favorites and Ryan Opera Center alumni Quinn Kelsey, Matthew Polenzani, and Amanda Majeski.

This week you have two chances to see  Mozart's Così fan tutte. Our friends at the Royal Opera House will be streaming their 2010 production on Friday, April 10.

To get the most out of these operas, learn more about them before you watch! Below are free Lyric Opera Commentaries. Each one discusses the synopsis, music, and some historical insight into how each piece was created. It’s like a Pre-Opera Talk you can enjoy at home!

Enjoy the commentaries, and enjoy the operas!
