A look at Master Classes with Sir Andrew Davis

Step into the rehearsal room with Lyric’s longtime music director Sir Andrew Davis as he leads a series of one-on-one master classes with members of the 2020/21 Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center Ensemble. In this new digital series, soprano Maria Novella Malfatti, mezzo-soprano Katherine Beck, baritones Leroy Davis and Ricardo José Rivera, bass-baritone David Weigel, and bass Anthony Reed take on the delightful and maddening characters from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, aided and abetted by Ensemble pianist Chris Reynolds. Each of these musicians will have the chance to work one-on-one with Sir Andrew Davis, focusing on vocal technique, nuance, collaborative piano playing, and more. Look behind the scenes at how these master classes were flimed—using strict health and safety protocols to keep our artists and technicians safe!—and follow along each week on YouTube and Facebook to see new episodes.
