Meet the cast of Fiddler on the Roof

Five principal singers, all with extensive Broadway experience, will be making their Lyric debuts this fall in Fiddler on the Roof.

Audiences can expect captivating performances from a phenomenal cast of Broadway stars and look forward to the North American premiere of a reimagined all-time classic, directed by Barrie Kosky.

While his Broadway credits include Wicked, The Full Monty, and of course Fiddler On The Roof, Skybell starred for two years off-Broadway in Joel Grey's acclaimed Yiddish production of Fiddler on The Roof. Playing Tevye, Skybell received the 2019 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Performance by Lead Actor in a Musical. Aside from musicals, Skybell's TV and film credits include The Good Fight, Blue Bloods, Elementary, Chicago PD, Cradle Will Rock, and Simply Irresistible.

Gravitte’s career has taken her across the Broadway stage to symphony halls and everywhere in between. She has starred in eight Broadway shows, won a Tony Award, and was nominated for an Emmy. Gravitte has also sung with more than 200 symphony orchestras, including performances at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Royal Albert Hall, among others. She has starred in several PBS specials, including Live from the Kennedy Center, and can be heard as one of the voices in Disney’s beloved animated film The Little Mermaid.

A Glencoe native, Marcus has appeared in Be More Chill on Broadway and was seen recently in The Bedwetter at Atlantic Theater Company. She made her feature film debut last November in Lin-Manuel Miranda's tick, tick...Boom!, now streaming on Netflix. In addition, Marcus is developing a television pilot with the New York Stage and Film Filmmakers' Workshop.

A Broadway veteran is making his Lyric debut as Lazar Wolf. Benoit has appeared in the Broadway and national tours of Les Misérables, Avenue Q, Jekyll and Hyde, and Dance of the Vampires. This is not his first Fiddler, as he previously appeared in Virginia Rep's 2013 production. His portrayal of Tevye had the Richmond Times-Dispatch taking note of his "strong and elegant voice" filling the stage with heart.

Hermalyn will be right at home starring as Lyric's Yente, having played the role under the Broadway spotlight. Her most recent Broadway performance was as Grandma Gellman in the Tony-nominated revival of Caroline, or Change. Hermalyn has also delighted opera audiences around the country in performances of Le Nozze di Figaro, Rigoletto, Il Trittico, Madama Butterfly, and La Bohème. In 2013 she was featured in The Sound of Music Live! with Carrie Underwood on NBC and in Sweeney Todd the following year with the New York Philharmonic for Live from Lincoln Center on PBS.
