ORPHÉE ET EURYDICE: 2017 Opera Ball

Join us for a night of opera, dining, dancing, and glamour!

Lyric Opera of Chicago celebrates the start of its exciting sixty-third season with a momentous first. Christoph Willibald Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice, Lyric’s first-ever collaboration with The Joffrey Ballet, will open on Saturday, September 23rd. 

Attendees will enter the Lyric Opera House by way of a glamorous red-carpet entrance, with photographers on hand to capture every minute. The curtain will rise on a never-before-seen production fresh from the mind of Director, Choreographer, Set, Costume, and Lighting Designer John Neumeier. The unparalleled combination of talent from two of Chicago’s greatest arts institutions is pure harmony, sure to delight the audience!

Lyric patrons attending the Opening Night performance are also invited to attend the Opera Ball, hosted by Chair Mrs. James P. Stirling alongside Vice-Chair Mamie Biggs Case of the Women’s Board. After the final bows, guests will make their way to the Hilton Chicago for cocktails, dinner, and live music from the Stu Hirsch Orchestra. This thrilling soirée celebrates the inauguration of another remarkable Lyric season. The black-tie affair gives attendees an opportunity to celebrate Opening Night with the stars of Orphée et Eurydice!
