Opera Insider Series

Opera Insider Series at Lyric Opera of Chicago

Ever wish you knew more about an opera before seeing it for the first time?
Ever wanted a deeper understanding of an opera you already know and love?
And wouldn’t it be fun to have some inside information about the sets and costumes?
The Opera Insider series will give you all that and more in a casual, relaxed, and social environment!
For each opera of Lyric’s season, music historian and opera expert David Buch hosts a session illuminating the work’s creation, its composer, its musical and dramatic highlights, and its particular magic. Each session will also welcome a special guest from Lyric’s Technical Department to share the inner workings of each production, including set and costume design insights, interpretation, stagecraft, and construction.
