Lyric Opera Backstage Tours – Just $15New Dates Added for Lyric Public Backstage Tours This Summer
Tourists, students, architecture fans, and arts lovers have been enjoying Lyric’s public backstage tours, launched this season. Given weekdays at 10am, these tours offer an introduction to the many areas of Lyric’s behind-the-scenes magic. New dates through June have just been announced — book today!
Beyond the Aria at Harris TheaterHarris Theater’s intimate Beyond the Aria recital series, in association with Lyric Unlimited, continues on Tuesday, May 17 at 7:30 pm. Famed soprano Christine Brewer, who was last seen on Lyric’s stage as the Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, will be featured along with Ryan Opera Center Ensemble members mezzo-soprano Annie Rosen and tenor Jesse Donner. Craig Terry, Ryan Opera Center music director and Beyond the Aria artistic director, will be at the piano.

Opera Club TEN ExhibitLast Chance to See Lyric’s 2015/16 Opera Club Exhibit Honoring Creative Women
This season, thousands have enjoyed TEN: A Season of Creative Women at Lyric, an exhibit on the lower level of the opera house honoring the acclaimed careers of ten women directors and designers of the 61st Season through featured photographs, renderings, costumes, videos, and other memorabilia. The exhibit won’t be up for much longer, so be sure to venture down the stairs to enjoy TEN and celebrate the creative women whose work has been central to many of Lyric’s most memorable productions. Closes May 22.

The Lyric Opera Broadcasts of the 2015-16 Lyric Opera of Chicago season will be rebroadcast internationally by The WFMT Radio Network and heard locally on 98.7WFMT. They may also be streamed on WFMT.com. The Saturday broadcasts begin at 12 noon CDT.
