Lyric Nominated for 2017 International Opera Awards
Lyric Opera's Chorus and Lyric Unlimited have both been nominated for this year's International Opera Awards. The prestigious awards are presented in London on Sunday, May 7th. All of us at Lyric are very excited and very proud that the Lyric Opera Chorus and Lyric Unlimited have been shortlisted as finalists.
Lyric Opera's Chorus is nominated for Chorus of the Year for their work and achievements during calendar year 2016. Lyric Unlimited has been nominated for this year's Education and Outreach award.
Founded in 2012, the International Opera Awards are an annual celebration of excellence in opera around the world. The Awards aim to raise the profile of opera as an art form, recognize and reward success in opera and support aspiring talent in opera from around the world. Judging of the International Opera Awards is carried out by a jury of industry professionals.

Catch A Rising Star: April 1
It's not every day that you have the opportunity to hear an extraordinary opera star on the cusp of an international career, but on Saturday, April 1, members of our Lyric family will be invited to do just that! Join us for a thrilling performance when the rising stars of Lyric's Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center perform at the annual Rising Stars Concert, with members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra conducted by Maestro Timothy Myers. Beyond the Aria in April at the Harris
Harris Theater’s intimate Beyond the Aria recital series, in association with Lyric Unlimited, continues this season. Join some of Lyric’s favorite voices with pianist Craig Terry, Ryan Opera Center music director and Beyond the Aria artistic director. The next performance is on April 26, 2017 and features mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe along with Ryan Opera Center ensemble members Diana Newman, soprano, and Bradley Smoak, bass-baritone.

American Sign Language Interpreted My Fair Lady Performance
On May 16 at 7PM, Lyric is offering a special ASL-Interpreted performance of our spring Broadway musical, My Fair Lady. All dialogue and lyrics will be translated into American Sign Language by two certified interpreters located near the stage. Select seats have been reserved with the best sight lines to follow the interpretation and all the action on stage.
