Tree of Giving - Donate Now

Text to Support Lyric at Block 37’s “12 Trees of Giving”

Bordered by State, Randolph, Dearborn, and Washington Streets.

Block 37 is a Chicago Loop destination for great shopping and dining — and for the next month, it’s home to Lyric’s holiday tree! Lyric was one of 12 local nonprofit organizations invited to participate in Block 37’s “12 Trees of Giving” tree-decorating competition, so the entire Lyric Opera family has created a beautiful holiday tree featuring ornaments handcrafted from sheet music. Visitors may vote on their favorite trees by donating $10 via texting TREELYRIC to 27722. You may also vote through using the social media hashtag #GIVE37 and tagging #LYRIC. Lyric will receive all of the proceeds from their votes, so be sure to stop by Block 37 to vote for Lyric’s tree through January 2!

January 17 CD Signing with Soprano Danielle de Niese

Patrons have been enjoying post-performance CD signings this season with some of Lyric’s biggest stars. If a signing is scheduled for after your performance, stay to meet the singers — or come to the Civic Opera House after the performance just to say hello! The next CD signing will be after the January 17 matinee performance of Bel Canto with starring soprano Danielle de Niese. CDs will be available for sale, but no purchase is necessary to meet and greet or get an autograph.

 
Opera Bus at Lyric Opera

Opera Bus: Space Available for Merry Widow Weekday Matinees

Patrons of both The Marriage of Figaro and Cinderella left behind the stresses of transportation and boarded Lyric’s Opera Bus. In its inaugural season, this luxury motor-coach service invites patrons to park at Northbrook Court and be driven to Lyric’s front door at the Civic Opera House. With arrival one hour before curtain, in time to enjoy dining or pre-opera talks, this service is offered for weekday matinees and costs just $20 roundtrip. 27th Polish Film Festival

BODY by Malgorzata Szumowska (Poland)

An internationally-acclaimed film BODY by Malgorzata Szumowska, a winner of 2015 Silver Bear at Berlinale and Golden Lions in Gdynia, will have the exclusive Polish Film Festival in America screening on Sunday, December 6th @ 3:00 PM.  in Muvico 18.

A cynical prosecutor and his daughter, who suffers from an eating disorder, are trying - each of them their own way - to recover after the death of a close person. When one day Anna, the girl’s therapist, claims that the deceased contacted her from beyond her grave and that she has a message for them, they will be forced to change their views on life and death…

Starring a Polish screen superstar Janusz Gajos, Maja Ostaszewska, Justyna Suwala.

A running time is 90 minutes. The movie is in Polish with English subtitles. No rating.
