Ying Fang

Soprano
This season the Chinese soprano makes debuts at Dutch National Opera and The Santa Fe Opera as Susanna/The Marriage of Figaro. In concert, she joins Dutch National Opera for Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle. Fang has previously scored successes as Mozart’s Pamina (Metropolitan Opera, Zurich Opera House), Ilia/Idomeneo (new production, Salzburg Festival), and Servilia/La clemenza di Tito (Met). She has recently returned to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the New York Philharmonic, while also debuting with the major orchestras of Cleveland, Boston, Hong Kong, San Francisco, and Houston. Other achievements include Nannetta/Falstaff (Verbier Festival), Morgana/Alcina (Washington), Adina/L’elisir d’amore (Vancouver), and Handel’s Il trionfo del tempo e disinganno and Fauré’s Requiem (both at the Aix-en-Provence Festival). Fang has appeared in recital at Carnegie Hall and has been heard with the Pittsburgh, New World, and National Symphony orchestras. The soprano is an alumna of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Juilliard, and the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program.
