Ann Palen, violin, joined the Lyric Opera Orchestra after completing her studies at the Eastman School of Music and the Peabody Institute of Music. She studied with Sylvia Rosenberg and coached with Sam Sanders, the Cleveland Quartet and the Juilliard Quartet. After moving to Chicago, she became a member of the Grant Park Symphony and currently plays with Music of the Baroque. Her love of chamber music has led to performances at Midsummer's Music, Morton Arboretum, Chamber Music on the Fox, as well as Lyric's own chamber music series.
"After all my years at Lyric, I still marvel at the orchestra's ability to listen and respond to the singers on stage. Whether it is a subtle nuance, a supportive crescendo, or a giant save, the orchestra has the singer's back."
