Hayley Fox
Soprano
Hayley has been performing opera in Chicago and nationally to critical acclaim. This past season, she sang the title role in Cendrillon with Chicago City Opera, as well as toured in Katie: The Strongest of the Strong by Faye Chiao with Lyric Unlimited, covering Marina. Her other recent role debuts included Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (Opera Company of Middlebury) and Elle in La Voix Humaine (Chicago College of Performing Arts). She premiered the roles of The Girl in Remedios Varios by Carlos Carillo, and Emily in The Weight of Light by Gillian Perry with Chicago Opera Theater, both presented through the Vanguard Initiative. She has also covered Senta in Der Fliegende Höllander (Wagner in Vermont), Mimi in La Bohème (Opera Company of Middlebury), Cendrillon by Massenet (in English translation with Cedar Rapids Opera), and Leonora in Ferdinando Paër’s Leonora (Chicago Opera Theater). Hayley has been a young artist with Chicago Opera Theater, The Glimmerglass Festival, and Wolf Trap Opera. She is a first Prize Winner in the Musician’s Club of Women Competition, and both an Encouragement Award and District Winner of the Laffont Competition. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and was a professional diplomatist at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts. She is currently a full-time member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s chorus.
