Josie Larsen

Soprano

A first-year Ryan Opera Center soprano from Sammamish, Washington, Larsen spent the 2025/26 Season as an Emerging Artist with Boston Lyric Opera. Recent performance highlights include Annunciata/Bolcom’s Lucrezia, Fiordiligi/Così fan tutte, Elaine/Musto’s Later the Same Evening, Rosalinde/Die Fledermaus, Mimì/La Bohème, and the Governess/The Turn of the Screw. Additionally, she covered Donna Anna/Don Giovanni at Music Academy of the West and the Countess/The Marriage of Figaro at the Aspen Music Festival. Larsen has performed as soloist in concert performances of the Brahms Requiem, Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor, Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by Villa-Lobos, and “From Jewish Folk Poetry” as part of the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s “Decoding Shostakovich” series. She received her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, followed by a master's degree and artist diploma at the New England Conservatory.

In Lyric’s 2026/27 Season, Larsen will sing Mrs. Gleaton/Susannah.
