Baritone

The renowned American bass-baritone, is a regular guest of major opera companies and symphony orchestras worldwide. In 2020 he earned acclaim as Alberich/Twilight: Gods at Michigan Opera Theater in Detroit. Next season he returns to The Dallas Opera as Bartolo/The Barber of Seville, after previous appearances there as Sharpless/Madama Butterfly, Uncle Sarvaor/La vida breve, and Porgy/Porgy and Bess. Appearances in North America include Germont/La traviata (Metropolitan Opera) and other leading roles with the major houses of Houston, Austin, Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Miami, as well as all the leading Canadian companies. Albert has been acclaimed abroad at Glyndebourne (Doctor/Vanessa), the Cologne Opera (Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci, Die tote Stadt, Les contes d’Hoffmann – the latter also at Dresden’s Semperoper and London’s Royal Opera House), Liège’s Royal Opera (A Florentine Tragedy), Copenhagen’s Royal Danish Opera (Falstaff), Prague’s National Theater (La fanciulla del West), the Deutsche Oper Berlin (The Flying Dutchman), Vienna’s Klangbogen Festival (Ernest Bloch’s Macbeth), and Tokyo’s New National Theater (Wotan/Ring cycle). Concert engagements include the leading orchestras of Washington, D.C., Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Among Albert’s recordings are Porgy and Bess (Grammy and Grand Prix du Disque winner) and A Florentine Tragedy.
