About the Chapters' Executive Board
The Chapters’ Executive Board serves as the formal board representation of the Chapters Community at Lyric. The earliest Chapters formed in the late 1950’s, when the Women’s Board of Lyric Opera of Chicago recognized a need for Lyric to broaden its network into the suburban communities. The purpose of the Chapters’ Executive Board is to guide the Chapters in the fulfillment of their functions, which are described as:
- Sponsoring educational and social programs and events in its community
- Encouraging attendance at Lyric Opera of Chicago performances and activities
- Generating financial support of Lyric Opera of Chicago
