Be the Hero of our Story

In the six years that our company prepared for our new Ring cycle, we incurred significant expenses in rehearsing and preparing the productions, and we are now faced with substantial financial losses. The cancellations of the full Ring cycle and its surrounding public events represent a $15-$20 million financial loss.

Our Board of Directors Chair-Elect Sylvia Neil, along with her husband Dan Fischel, have started The Heroes’ Fund, which will be used to match contributions made to Lyric dollar-for-dollar during this trying time.

We invite you to participate in this heroic effort and have your gift matched:

  • Make a charitable contribution to Lyric today. Every donation is critical, and every dollar will be matched.

  • Donate your Ring and Götterdämmerung tickets back to Lyric as contribution

  •  If you’ve already donated your tickets for these productions, your gift will be matched!

  •  If you joined the Valhalla Circle giving society, allow us to keep your support in place. Your gift will be matched by The Heroes' Fund.

Together, with your support matched dollar-for-dollar, we hope to raise $5 million to help carry Lyric through this challenging time. Many of our generous Ring and Götterdämmerung sponsors have also pledged their support to this cause. We are incredibly grateful for this remarkable show of leadership and generosity.

Facing that loss, we’ve worked hard to take care of our artists and creative team to ensure their safe passage home, access to last minute flights, accommodations and more. We’ve also worked in close collaboration with our artists and union colleagues to care for them in this time of crisis.
