Homecoming Queen Sondra Radvanovsky

Chicagoland native shares why she loves working at Lyric.

I was born in Berwyn, IL, and I still have family who lives in the area. So when I "come home" to Lyric Opera of Chicago, I feel like I'm performing for family—safe, supported, and motivated to contribute something new to the art form.

I've also come to regard Lyric as an innovator in the field. Empowered by a passionate family of donors, Lyric is truly redefining what it means to be a great opera company in America: a beacon for music lovers that can offer a bold variety of genres to entertain diverse tastes.

I'm very impressed with how Lyric has broadened the scope of its planning to include formats like musical theater, chamber opera, and opera for youth as ways of welcoming audiences who may have different interests and passions.

I hope more opera houses will follow in Lyric's footsteps.

Much like its home city, Lyric's longevity is built upon the shoulders of innovative thinkers, trusting collaborators, and generous patrons like you who believe in its vision of the future.

I hope you will join our partnership and make a charitable contribution to Lyric today.

Thank you!
