Martin Luther Clark

Tenor

First-year Ryan Opera Center tenor Martin Luther Clark graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music with a master’s degree in Opera.  While on the East Coast, he performed with the Russian Opera Workshop in concert versions of both Vaudemont/Iolanta and King Charles/The Maid of Orleans during the 2019 summer season. With Curtis Opera Theatre, Clark sang the roles of First Sailor/Dido and Aeneas, Tobias Ragg/Sweeney Todd, and Don Ottavio/Don Giovanni. In the summer of 2018, he was heard as an Apprentice Artist at Central City Opera and as the tenor soloist at the Library of Congress where he sang both published and unpublished works by Leonard Bernstein for the composer’s 100th anniversary. He has also been heard with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City as a Resident Artist, numerous roles and Galas with UNT Opera, The Dallas Opera (cover), The Dallas Opera Outreach, Charlottesville Opera, Opera in Concert, Opera North, and Wolf Trap Opera.

Making his debut in the Lyric Opera of Chicago: Unlimited series, Clark will sing Police Buddy 2 in the production of BLUE by Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson. In Lyric’s 2020/21 Season, Clark sings Uldino/Attila and First Philistine/Samson and Delilah.
