Community programs
Lyric partners with community organizations throughout the Chicago region to use the arts as a lens for sharing experiences, for expressing creativity, and for reflection.
Through collaborative programming, the teams at Lyric seek to understand and respond to the needs and interests of communities around the city. The resulting programs, events and activities expand the boundaries of storytelling, ask important questions, and seek to redefine the audiences for opera.
Opera Pathfinders
Opera Pathfinders is a dynamic civic engagement program for young people ages 16 to 21 who are passionate about opera and the performing arts. Through a mix of in-person and virtual experiences, participants build community, explore creative and administrative career pathways, and develop leadership, advocacy, and critical thinking skills.
