THE SCORPIONS’ STING: AN OPERA FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
October 14 & 15 at The Studebaker Theater

Lyric Unlimited is thrilled to present its latest opera for children and families, The Scorpions’ Sting, to Chicago audiences this October 14 and 15! With acclaimed Canadian composer and librettist Dean Burry and director Elise Sandell at the helm, The Scorpions’ Sting is inspired by the ancient Egyptian legend of Isis and the Seven Scorpions. Perfect for budding opera and music enthusiasts ages 7-12, The Scorpions' Sting follows a group of young archaeology students in a race against time to save their professor, who’s been stung by a poisonous scorpion. The story recreates a world full of wonder and mystery, and explores the legendary tales of Egyptian gods and goddesses with themes about the quest for knowledge and the power of forgiveness. Performances will take place at the Studebaker Theater (410 S. Michigan, Chicago) on Saturday, October 14 at 2pm and 4pm, and Sunday October 15 at noon and 2pm. Learn more about The Scorpions’ Sting here and reserve your tickets online or by calling 312.827.5600.
