Nathaniel Catasca

Tenor

Tenor Nathaniel Catasca, a native of Albuquerque, is a Baumgartner Studio Artist at Florentine Opera Company in Milwaukee. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's of music in vocal performance and from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester with a master's in performance & literature under the study of Robert Swensen. At Oklahoma, he debuted as Ernesto in Donizetti's Don Pasquale in 2017. At Eastman, he performed the role of Tenor I in Ricky Ian Gordon's The Tibetan Book of the Dead and took second place in the Friends of Eastman Opera Vocal Competition. He was a Summer Concert Residency Artist for the Florentine in 2019, and a young artist at Hawaii Opera Theatre in fall 2019, singing the role of Spoletta in Puccini's Tosca. He returned to Hawaii in 2020 for a tour of Rossini's Cinderella for young audiences and has also served as a young artist at Finger Lakes Opera.
