Tatiana Vassilieva

Music Staff

Pianist and vocal coach Tatiana Vassilieva joins the music staff of the Lyric Opera of Chicago this season for Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades. A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Ms. Vassilieva has assisted conductors such as Harry Bicket, David Robertson, Emmanuel Villaume, James Gaffigan, Ramón Tebar, and Jader Bignamini. Currently working with Mo. Nicholas Carter on the music staff of Stadttheater Klagenfurt (Austria), she has previously worked at companies such as the Santa Fe Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Central City Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, and Edmonton Opera. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music with master’s degrees both in piano performance and accompanying, Ms. Vassilieva received additional training at the Tanglewood Music Centre, Music Academy of the West, and the Britten-Pears Young Artists Programme.
