Back together again!
Lyric Opera of Chicago and The Second City—hot on the heels of their hugely successful, sold-out January 5 collaboration, The Second City Guide to the Opera—present a run of shows at the Civic Opera House, with audience members seated onstage.
The May-June run of The Second City Guide to the Opera features two opera singers and ensemble members of The Second City.
Wait staff provides table service—full bar selection and light savories—starting 75 minutes before the show begins, with beverage and light food service continuing throughout the evening.
House lights will be fully illuminated in the Ardis Krainik Theatre for more than an hour before each performance so patrons can take pictures from the stage and enjoy the beautiful Art-Deco space while waiting for the show to begin. Souvenir pilsner glasses will be available for purchase.
Tickets $35-$75. General Admission (GA) onstage seating—first-come, first-seated; please note our Pedersen Room Diners will have seats reserved onstage. Prices subject to change.
The Pedersen Room Restaurant
at Lyric will have dinner seating 90 minutes before each show; reservations are not required but are encouraged to guarantee seating. While you dine, general admission seats will be reserved in your onstage ticketed section so you may enjoy your meal!
The Second City Guide to the Opera is a project of Lyric Unlimited.
*May-June performances do not feature January guest hosts Renée Fleming and Patrick Stewart.
