"My very first opera was when I was given tickets to the front, very center Dress Circle box to Aida, one of the greatest of all operas. Three friends and I dressed up like never before, including my first excuse to wear my black velvet opera cloak, and sit in arguably the best seats in the house for a once in a lifetime experience. I've been hooked ever, since but that first Lyric moment is forever my best memory."
-Jeudi J.

"Natalie Dessay, Lucia Di Lammermoor, 2003/04 Season. I was sobbing like a baby at the end."
-Myrna S.

"The moment that transported me to a different level of consciousness was June Anderson singing Norma. Before the end of 'Casta diva', Ms. Anderson had lifted my spirit out of my body, a timeless experience that I will never forget. Suddenly I was aware of the applause and when I came back down to my seat in the theater, I found that tears had been streaming down my face onto my lap."
-Randolph R.

"Samuel Ramey in Mefistofele instantly transformed my husband into an opera lover. He hadn't known that opera could be like THAT."
-Linda R.

"One of my many Lyric moments was the Elektra with Christine Goerke. To me she embodied the character in a very emotional way that really connected with the audience. My husband and I had to see the performance twice."
-Judy B.

"My husband and I clicked at La Forza Del Destino. We had met only once, but during intermission, I saw him gazing around at people in the lobby and his eyes stopped when he saw me. The next day he called, we started dating, and married within the year."
-Betty W.

"I'd worked at Lyric for more than a decade when I finally had a seat in the front row for the first time. The opera was Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin with a stunning trio of principals -- Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Dina Kuznetsova, and Frank Lopardo. Experiencing the singing and acting of those three supremely elegant artists in Robert Carsen's beautiful production, and listening to the great Lyric chorus and orchestra under Sir Andrew Davis at such close proximity, I was drawn irresistibly into the emotions of Onegin (the very piece that had introduced me to opera back when I was seven years old.). I'd heard many splendid Onegins before Lyric's, but that one will remain in my memory as the greatest of them all -- a glorious evening that made me fall in love with this unforgettable opera all over again."
