Patrick Guetti

Third-year bass Patrick Guetti, a native of Highland Park, New Jersey, made his European debut last summer at Glyndebourne Festival Opera in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, followed by his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Tosca, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. Highlights of recent seasons include debut performances with The Dallas Opera (Fifth Jew/Salome) and Opera Philadelphia (José Tripaldi/Osvaldo Golijov’s Ainadamar), as well as Guetti’s return to The Santa Fe Opera for a second consecutive year as an apprentice artist, appearing in Carmen, Fidelio, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen (world premiere), and The Impresario/Le Rossignol. An alumnus of Catholic University of America and Philadelphia’s Academy of Vocal Arts, the bass’s AVA roles included Don Quichotte, Prince Gremin and Zaretsky/Eugene Onegin, Don Basilio/Il barbiere di Siviglia, Tom/Un ballo in maschera, and Arkel/Pelléas et Mélisande. Guetti’s honors and awards include first place in the 2015 Gerda Lissner Foundation Competition, grand prize winner of the 2014 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, a 2014 Sara Tucker Study Grant, Audience Favorite Award at the 2013 Giargiri Bel Canto Competition, and first prize in the Premio “Verdi” competition. At Lyric Opera he has been featured in Der Rosenkavalier, Les Troyens, Die Zauberflöte, and Eugene Onegin.

During the 2017/18 season Guetti will appear in Turandot.
