Let’s Raise a Glass to Lyric!

Previously named one of Wine Spectator’s “Top 10 Charity Wine Auctions,” Lyric’s stunning Wine Auction returns to The Ken Pigott Stage of the Ardis Krainik Theatre on April 14, 2018. Orchestrated triennially by the Women’s Board, each auction makes a profound impact on Lyric Opera’s commitment to offer a multifaceted program of education, community engagement, and artistic initiatives, along with unparalleled creative expression. A project of the Women's Board, Wine Auction has raised over $9 million for Lyric Opera of Chicago since 1988.

In 2018, Wine Auction will celebrate its 30th anniversary. The evening, co-chaired by Women’s Board members Keith Kiley Goldstein and Nancy S. Searle, will feature a Champagne reception, extensive silent auction, elegant dinner, and spectacular live auction. Honoree Shirley W. Ryan will be celebrated for her extraordinary vision in creating Lyric's first wine auction thirty years ago, and for her ongoing dedication to Lyric and musicality throughout Chicago. Additionally, the Women’s Board is excited to announce its Honored Guest, the incomparable Château Margaux, owned by Corinne Mentzelopoulos alongside her daughter, Alexandra Petit-Mentzelopoulos.
