Highlights of the upcoming season:

  • The spectacle you love, in new-to-Chicago productions: Verdi’s classic Rigoletto, Bizet’s exotic The Pearl Fishers, and Puccini’s blockbuster Turandot all take the stage with grand-scale productions premiering in our city.

  • Music that will draw you to the edge of your seat: Whether it’s the vocal fireworks of Bellini that will be on display in I Puritani, or Mozart’s beautiful melodies in Così fan tutte, the season's operas have a wide array of musical styles to fit your taste.

  • Highly anticipated original productions that you can only experience at Lyric: The journey through Wagner’s Ring cycle continues with Die Walküre; we partner with The Joffrey Ballet for the first time with Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice; and Gounod’s French masterpiece Faust comes to life in an exciting new production designed by groundbreaking artist John Frame.

  • Beyond the main stage season: Lyric Unlimited presents the contemporary chamber opera Fellow Travelers in a limited-time engagement at the Athenaeum Theatre, and a production of the iconic rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar is the latest in our lineup of grand-scale musicals. You may also add a recital by acclaimed tenor Piotr BeczaƂa (specially priced at $20-$50 for subscribers), and join us for a concert celebration of Leonard Bernstein.
