The performance stars Thomas Hampson as Lord Macbeth, Nadja Michael as Lady Macbeth, and Dimitri Pittas as Macduff. Making her operatic directing debut is Barbara Gaines, founder and artistic director of Chicago Shakespeare Theater.

Opera Ball attendees enter the Hilton and ascend the grand staircase, where they are greeted by the sound of heralding trumpets and welcomed by the Opening Night and Opera Ball chairmen, the Women’s Board president, and hostesses from the Women’s Board. The Grand March of the Stars begins the Opera Ball, followed by a delightful dinner and guests dancing the night away to the Stu Hirsh Orchestra.
