Stars of Lyric Opera at Millennium Park
Each year Lyric Opera of Chicago presents a star-studded free outdoor concert as its annual pre-season gift to the city. This free concert features a spectacular selection of overtures, arias, and ensembles. Enjoy this outdoor performance with the breathtaking backdrop of the Frank Gehry-designed Jay Pritzker Pavilion and the Chicago skyline at dusk and twilight.
This year's concert was a grand night of singing with some of opera's most famous stars — many of them featured in Lyric Opera's amazing 2009-10 season. Deborah Voigt, James Morris, and more in a glorious concert dedicated to the men and women of the United States Armed Services. Sir Andrew Davis conducted the Lyric Opera Orchestra!
Other performers included René Barbera, Vladimir Galouzine, Joseph Kaiser, Kyle Ketelsen, Katherine Lerner, Amanda Majeski, Ana María Martínez, and Lucas Meachem.
Music by Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Dvořák, Offenbach, Wagner, Bizet, and Gounod.
