THE TOUR
Visit the stars’ dressing rooms and hear stories of how opera greats such as Deborah Voigt and Natalie Dessay prepare for their performances. Imagine yourself as Sir Andrew Davis when you ascend the stairs into the orchestra pit; or as superstar mezzo-soprano Susan Graham when you walk onto the main stage and face the lavish auditorium. Satisfy your curiosity or fulfill your opera fantasies by taking a Lyric Opera Backstage Tour.
Backstage tour stops include the Wardrobe Department, Wigs & Make-up Department, Scenery Handling Facility, Armory Room, Patrick and Shirley Ryan Family Rehearsal Center, Props Room, Orchestra Pit, Main Stage, and more! Talks and demonstrations are given by members of Lyric Opera’s professional staff and trained volunteers. Each tour makes about 10 stops in two and one-half hours.
LUNCH
Before or after your tour, you may wish to enjoy a light box lunch served in the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Grand Foyer. Order either a vegetarian or chicken selection. Both options include fresh fruit, a dessert, and coffee, tea, or soda. Lunches are $12 each.
PREMIUM TOURS
The crème de la crème of opera tours. For $150 per person, guests will enjoy a private tour in groups of 10. Premium Tours will depart every 10 minutes between 11:00 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. Following your tour, you will dine with a Lyric Opera insider at a gourmet luncheon in the beautiful and elegant surroundings of the Malott Room. Included are valet parking and a photograph on Lyric Opera’s main stage. Guests will receive a parting gift, compliments of Lyric Opera’s Guild Board of Directors.

GROUP TOURS
Bring your friends and associates for a group outing on a backstage tour! Discounted tour rates are available for groups of 15 people or more—a savings of $5 off the individual tour rate.
