Lyric Opera of Chicago presents Wagner's masterpiece The Flying Dutchman, a story of a young woman's obsession with a cursed wanderer who seeks a faithful companion. This production is led by Enrique Mazzola and features Tomasz Konieczny and Tamara Wilson in leading roles.

Janáček's Jenůfa is a dark and stunning masterpiece featuring a powerful story of murder, consequence, and hope for the future. The starry cast will be led by sopranos Lise Davidsen and Nina Stemme, with Jakob Hrůša conducting Claus Guth's mesmerizing production.

Rossini's fairy tale opera Cinderella follows the love story of downtrodden Cenerentola and disguised Prince Ramiro with a sparkling score and hilarious antics. This renowned production by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle will feature rising stars Vasilisa Berzhanskaya and Jack Swanson alongside veteran baritone Alessandro Corbelli, under the baton of Yi-Chen Lin.
January 27 - FEBRUARY 11, 2024
Champion, an opera by Terence Blanchard with libretto by Michael Cristofer, tells the true story of welterweight boxer Emile Griffith who is haunted by guilt. This “opera in jazz” features a brilliant cast, including Reginald Smith, Jr. and Justin Austin, and is led by Music Director Enrique Mazzola.

Experience opera at its grandest with Verdi’s visually stunning and musically captivating Aida, featuring intimate arias, dramatic duets, and thrilling Verdi choruses. As a riveting love triangle unfolds in an alluring Egyptian setting, the story is brought to life by principal artists Michelle Bradley, Jamie Barton, and Russell Thomas, all led by Music Director Enrique Mazzola.
