This April, rock out with Lyric and the newly announced all-star cast of Jesus Christ Superstar! The highly-anticipated North American debut of the acclaimed London production will hit the stage of the Lyric Opera House April 27 - May 20, and you won’t want to miss the chance to experience the revolutionary musical that became one of the greatest successes in Broadway history. 

Last month, the Chicago cast for this Olivier Award-winning production was announced, and it includes a GRAMMY-nominated artist, indie rock musicians, a London West End favorite, and more.

The cast includes: Broadway artist Heath Saunders as Jesus; three-time GRAMMY Award-nominated soul singer Ryan Shaw as Judas; tUnE-yArDs tour vocalist Jo Lampert as Mary Magdalene; Broadway and Postmodern Jukebox crooners Michael Cunio as Pilate and Mykal Kilgore as Simon Zealotes; Diane Coffee frontman Shaun Fleming as Herod; Chicago-based Broadway artist Joseph Anthony Byrd as Annas; West End favorite Cavin Cornwall as Caiaphas, and Chicago-based artist Andrew Mueller as Peter.

Three-time Olivier Award winner Timothy Sheader directs the North American premiere of his acclaimed 2016 production from Regent’s Park Open-Air Theatre in London. Sheader will be joined in Chicago by the original creative team, including music director Tom Deering, Olivier Award-winning choreographer Drew McOnie, Tony Award-nominated set & costume designer Tom Scutt, and Olivier Award-nominated lighting designer Lee Curran. The Chicago production will also feature members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus.
