All tour times are assigned between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Tour stops include:
Wardrobe Department, Wigs & Make-up Department, Scenery Handling Facility, Armory Room, Stars’ Dressing Rooms, Props Room, Orchestra Pit, Main Stage, and more!
Visit the stars' dressing rooms and hear stories of how opera greats such as Renée Fleming and Natalie Dessay prepare for their performances. Imagine yourself as Sir Andrew Davis when you ascend the stairs into the orchestra pit; or as mezzo-soprano Susan Graham when you walk onto the mainstage and face the lavish auditorium. Satisfy your opera curiosity or fulfill your opera fantasies by taking a Lyric Opera Backstage Tour.
Lunch
Before or after your tour, you may wish to enjoy a light box lunch served in the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Grand Foyer. Order either a vegetarian or a chicken selection. Both options include fresh fruit, a dessert, and coffee, tea or soda. Lunches are $12 each.
Premium Tours
The "crème de la crème" of opera tours. For $150 per person, guests will enjoy a private tour in groups of 10. Premium Tours will depart every 10 minutes between 11:00 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. Following your tour, you will be treated to a gourmet lunch in the Malott Room, where you will dine with a Lyric Opera insider. Guests will receive complimentary valet parking, a complimentary photograph on Lyric Opera’s mainstage, and a parting gift, compliments of Lyric Opera’s Guild Board of Directors.
Group Tours
Bring your friends and associates for a group outing on a backstage tour! Discounted tour rates are available for groups of 15 people or more—a savings of $5 off the individual tour rate. A reserved dining area for your group can be arranged for an additional fee. Don’t miss your chance to share this unique group experience.
