Teen Opera Circle
Grades 9 – 12

Fee: free for Chicago Public Schools

Chicago Public School students explore the world of opera through in-depth, guided study of works from Lyric Opera's regular season. Lyric teaching artists partner with teachers to oversee student-driven research and the creation of special projects. The program includes student trips to the Civic Opera House to attend the dress rehearsals of the operas they study. A professional development workshop will be held for participating teachers and teaching artists.

by Richard Strauss (sung in German with projected English titles)
Dress Rehearsal: November 16, 2011; 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Professional Development: August 25, 2011; 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Aida by Giuseppe Verdi (sung in Italian with projected English titles)
Dress Rehearsal: January 18, 2012; 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Professional Development: November 10, 2011; 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
