The Bucksbaum Family Lyric Opera Broadcasts
Opening-night performances of Lyric's full eight-opera season are broadcast live September through March in the Chicago area on 98.7wfmt. The full season is rebroadcast over eight consecutive Saturdays, on 98.7wfmt locally and on the WFMT Radio Network internationally. The spring broadcasts can also be heard on www.wfmt.com. These broadcasts include insightful artist interviews as pre-performance and intermission features. They reach an audience of 25 million internationally via radio, and an unlimited number of listeners via enhanced web streaming at www.wfmt.com/streaming. These broadcasts are enjoyed by countless listeners whose access to live opera may be limited by geography, disability, or financial resources.

The Lyric Season Companion is compiled, published, and sold by Lyric's Education Department expressly for Lyric patrons. The handsome journal contains informative articles about each opera of the season, biographies of the composers and librettists, detailed synopses, pronunciation guide, production information, suggested reading, and a list of recommended recordings and videos.

Commentaries on CD
Costs: $25 per CD/$155 complete set

Each disc in the Commentaries on CD set highlights one of the season's operas, with insights on its plot, composer, and characters, interspersed with key musical excerpts. Commentators include general director William Mason, music director Sir Andrew Davis, and other opera experts from Lyric's professional staff.
