Chapter Community

The Lyric Opera Chapter Community

In a Lyric Opera Chapter, opera lovers of all ages get together to enjoy lectures, musical performances, special events, volunteer opportunities, and each other's company. Each Chapter is chartered with the dual purpose of raising money to enhance educational and community-engagement programs and generating support for Lyric Opera of Chicago. Chapter members enjoy certain exclusive benefits, including the opportunity to be an OPERATHON volunteer, the chance to be a sales volunteer at OperaShop, the Chapter member price for all Community Chapter programs, and much more!

Dues of $25 are payable annually to the community-based Chapter of your choice, where members attend programs and events throughout the season with varying registration fees.

Joining is Easy!

Lyric Opera Chapter membership is available to all annual contributors of $75 and above. Dues are paid annually to the Chapter(s) of your choice.

Exclusive Benefits

There are perks designed just for members of Lyric's Chapters, over and above the benefits already received as a donor. In addition to the community experience, chapter members enjoy exclusive benefits such as:

  • Invitation to the all-Chapter Annual Luncheon Meeting and performance featuring Ryan Opera Center ensemble members
  • Opportunity to volunteer at OPERATHON, Lyric's radio marathon, and mingle with the on-air stars
  • Discount at OperaShop for sales volunteers
  • Chapter member price for all Community Chapter programs
  • Plus all benefits of being a National Member of Lyric Opera of Chicago

Call the Lyric Opera Chapter Office at 312-827-5673 for more information.

OPERATHON is conducted by the Lyric Opera Chapters with all proceeds supporting Lyric Opera of Chicago's education and community-engagement programs for children, adults, and seniors. Chapter members have the opportunity to volunteer to work on OPERATHON day in a variety of tasks...talk to donors by being on the "front line" in the phone room, tabulating the sales and contributions, networking with fellow volunteers, welcoming fellow chapter members and orienting them to their assigned duties. Chapter member involvement is essential to Lyric's success.

Stars from Lyric's productions are heard on-air, encouraging listeners to phone in their pledges of support. A stunning selection of Lyric Opera merchandise, autographed items, as well as restaurant  certificates are offered via the OPERATHON catalog. A selection of exclusive merchandise and season posters are available in our online gift store, OperaShop.

For more information, contact the OperaShop hotline at 312-827-5658.
