Francesco Milioto
Music Staff
Francesco Milioto has been a valued member of the music staff at Lyric Opera of Chicago since 2013. In the 2024/25 Season, he will work alongside Maestro Mazzola on Sunday in the Park with Lyric at Millennium Park, as well as the opening production of Verdi's Rigoletto.
Mr. Milioto currently serves as Music Director for OPERA San Antonio, The Florentine Opera (Milwaukee), and Holy City Arts and Lyric Opera (Charleston). This season will see him lead productions of Madama Butterfly and Carmen at the Florentine Opera, as well as Handel's Acis and Galatea, which he will conduct from the harpsichord. Mr. Milioto will make his Kentucky Opera debut in their production of Madama Butterfly, and returns to San Antonio for both The Nutcracker with Ballet San Antonio, and Madama Butterfly with OSA.
An Italian-Canadian conductor, Mr. Milioto began his career as a pianist and studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. He holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario in Piano Performance, as well as a double Master's Degree in Conducting and Opera Repetition from McGill University.
