Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Lyric Opera of Chicago. You will find current audition opportunities at the bottom of this page. Singers and instrumentalists wishing to receive audition information from Lyric Opera of Chicago or The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center may contact the appropriate administrators as follows:
Solo Artists
Lyric grants auditions for principal roles to professional opera singers on an invitation-only basis. The artist's management should contact Lyric's associate artistic administrator or email soloaud@lyricopera.org with requests for an audition.
Orchestra
The Lyric Opera Orchestra has the following current vacancies:
- Principal Trumpet (January 29 - February 14)
- Principal Cello (February 7 - February 18)
- Principal Viola (February 13 - March 4)

Assistant Conductors/Music Staff

Chorus
The Lyric Opera Chorus is a professional ensemble of approximately 48 full-time members. Classically trained singers in all voice categories who are prepared for a professional career should apply. Applicants are required to prove that they are a United States citizen, permanent resident, or have legal permission to work in the United States.

Ballet Auditions
Ballet auditions for the 2011-2012 season have concluded. Please check back at a later date for information about the 2012-2013 auditions.
